EVANS ARCHITECTS IS A SMALL ARCHITECTURAL FIRM WITH SUPPORTING STAFF

Over our sixty-year history, we have established a reputation as a regional design firm with wide experience in residential, commercial, industrial and institutional work. As the practice has diversified, its scope has widened to include current projects throughout New York and New Jersey. We maintain an attention to detail and a commitment to design quality. We are experienced in designing many different building types in the commercial and residential realm. Each project is unique and designed to suit a variety of needs from the requirements of a single owner to accommodating programmatic elements of multiple tenants and uses.

JOHN EVANS 1959 - 2019

ARCHITECT-ENGINEER-SURVEYOR-PLANNER

The firm's beloved founder, had over a half century of experience as a licensed architect, engineer, land surveyor, and planner. John Evans was a graduate of University of Chicago, then went on to earn his Master's Degree at Newark College of Engineering. John Evans had been Borough Engineer of North Haledon, NJ, President of the Paterson Board of Standards and Appeals, consultant to the Paterson Parking Authority, and the West Paterson, School Board, and a former member of Board of Directors of St. Joseph's Hospital.

My NYC-based investor relations firm has completed two complete office renovation projects with Evans Architects and our experience with Matt Evans has been excellent. In addition to the office renovation projects in Manhattan, Matt Evans also managed an extensive residential project for us in Greenwich Village. In all cases, we found the Matt and his team to be creative and attentive and the working relationship was smooth and upbeat. We are delighted with the results of all of the projects. Most recently, he designed our offices in a 10,000 sq ft. loft off of Union Square. The range of options offered and the problem solving that Matt provided enabled us to create large offices with a conference room while still allowing the spaces to feel open and inviting. Architect planner licensed in New York and New Jersey.

Graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design Providence, Rhode Island, 1984.

New Jersey Institute of Technology Master's of Architecture, 1995.

He has 35 years experience in Architectural Design, Construction and Planning.

He has experience as an adjunct Professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and is currently serving on the boards of Paterson Chamber of Commerce, and Paterson Restoration Corporation.
